[QUOTE=DiscoDiscoMan;3245187]Well it’s been an emotional roller coaster of Discovery …… coolant pump works, holds pressure/temp and the radio is a lot lot better….camera is not yet connected and neither is the park brake override…
The journey of Discovery is not worth sharing…

I bought the wiring harnesses from incartec…. It was plug and play in the end….
Will get to the reverse camera later…

That looks really good! Were you happy with the fit of it into the dash?

Which Pioneer part number is that one?
    Cheers

The original radio is pictured below
    Pioneer SPH-DA77DAB
It’s a single DIN chassis but double screen.
Almost a perfect fit… plus a trim piece from incartec.
Not fully secured yet as I didn’t have time but it’s sitting as an interference fit in the original frame…. But I now have a plan that should only take little bit of filing to widen the hole…

Not sure why the AM reception is so terrible despite a new aerial and a suppressor..
FM and DAB are a crystal….
    And I like Apple CarPlay

Yes happy with it. Surprised how easy it was in the end, despite my confusion about the wiring… if doing it a second time it would only take 30-45 minutes….already had the new aerial installed

I went to Repco. The "expert" there wanted my rego number.......😡. Bursons sell fixed length Dayco stuff. Too much for the job, but in my case the leftover will go to the OKA.

    Handbrake adjustment.

I adjusted the hand brake. The hardest part was jacking the car up, as it slipped of the jack twice before I could put the axle stand in!! The 'workshop' is not exactly flat in that part.
I cleaned the oil and grime from around the 17mm bolt, tightened it until the wheel would not move, them backed it of about 2.5 turns, RAVE states 3.
    The hand brake now works.

Mate it presents so well also. I like the floating Alpine units, but this looks more like the factory fit of current cars. I was reading up on the unit earlier, and it looks like they work as a car phone as well.

Yeah full CarPlay functionality. Highly recommend. And whatever the android equivalent is.

Well it was a long testing day towing the 2.5 tonne van, surfboards, 3 kids, wife, 20-30 kmhr heads winds and 33 degree heat….
The EMS I installed certainly saved the old Disco from overheating death…
Regularly hit 105 and topped out at 110… factory gauge stayed horizontal normal…
No hoses let go and air con kept working…
Trans cooler/thermostat thing worked as designed…

    Patience let go though…
