Finally fixed the miss. Was the coil pack.

Strange failure, tested ok the first time (was sparking) but failed when I retested it after other things didn't fix the issue. Whats wierd is that even being a wasted spark system, only number 1 wasn't firing, number 6 which it is paired with was still firing. Couldn't see it earthing out through the leads (new) or the coil base. But there you go.

Also managed to change the coils and leads without removing the intake manifold. And they said it couldn't be done

Well, it happened on the 23rd of May but......

Driving up The Newell Hwy(A39) and I notice that the nose of the D2 is pointing higher and higher towards the sky. I stop on the side of the road about 32km out of Coonabarabran and find the rear of the vehicle down to the axle stops.
SLS no go. I rang the RACV and got the vehicle back to Coonabarabran. Totalcare(RACV) says that they won't pay for accomodation as I have chosen to repair the vehicle myself....meh. I rang around and found a 2nd hand replacement compressor from TRS in SA. I made the call after 4.30pm and the package arrived at the motel at 9am the following morning(Bouquets and many thanks to TRS for such prompt service). A quick changeover of the compressor and I was out of there and on my way again.
    It's an exciting life.

    Cheers,

    Jason

Replaced the ACE valve block assembly, was going to just change a solonoid coil, but series 2 coils (which I bought - complete) arn't compatable with 2a update solonoids .
