Absolutely smooth sailing - Bass Strait was like glass. I don't know where all the storms went.

SubscriberWashed the D2 in the middle of my garage yesterday.
When I moved it, the roller door dropped onto the roof. What the hell happened there, I thought.
Well, when I closed the rear door, it trapped the dangling rope for the roller door manual override.
You wouldn't read about it. Anyway, the rope ended up snapping off with little damage done other than a plastic lock piece snapped off the roller door mechanism. Will probably have to make a new one. I expect the replacement part will come complete with a whole new unit.

Today I changed the oil filter. The new filter tightened up after about 1 turn. I looked at the old filter, the outer gasket was missing. Removed the new filter, removed the old outer gasket. Fited the new filter. Went through the purge process. Did not hear a thing. However the back is full of baby seat and stuff. I thought I did hear a bit of a whine but it might of been the radio coing on. Anyway the car started just fine.
I went to change the diff oils, but I do not have a 21mm socket. I'm so glad I remembered discovry2.co.uk, he suggests removing the filler plug before the empty plug, this was for the transfre case, but hey it makes sense for diffs and gear box etc.

Was on my way to Bendigo to the 75th anniversary of Jeep, while driving looked at the rear window and it was a bit dirty, gave the wiper a quick squirt to clear. A little while later I noticed it was looking a bit damp. Pulled into a parking spot to discover fuel pouring out - turned around and drove home.
Pulled the fuel lines out (bugger of a job) - green line had rubbed through and one other is very close to rubbing through.
Need to get some new lines - going to try a hydraulic place to see if I can get some better lines made up.
Poor Disco must have thought I was going to trade it for a Jeep.
Today my D2 got new front brake rotors, new brake pads and new caliper guide pins. Next up I'll do the rear....
