Are they in the evap coil or return air ?
Temp sensor is on the evap coil inside the main cab unit.
Dual PX switch is on the receiver drier at the condenser.
Ambient OAT sensor is on the front Drivers side of the Condenser.
Cab air temp sensor is on the lower dash beside the ignition barrel with a small fan.
There is also a sun light sensor on the top middle of the dash near the windscreen.

The evap sensor will more than likely prevent any ice up.

I remember the switch on the dryer, it was the basis of a previous discussion.
    It's a dual HP/LP which is weird.
If the LP trips you've lost all your refrigerant and I daresay the suction pressure will already be below 0.

What id like to know is how the AC compressor is powered/running for now.
If it's bypassed the ATC ECU I can see why it's freezing up.

correct, but the original ECU's remain as they are required for other functions

As expected, but how is the AC compressor activated now?
If it isnt using the wires previously mentioned the ATC ECU isnt able to do its job properly.

i'm not sure, i'll have to check on monday.

previously it ran all the time unless the econ button was pressed.

going back a step, which ECU controls the compressor clutch?
    ignore that, already answered earlier.

so im confused, on the phone to the mechanic/aircon guy we were talking about the tx valve and its input signal. not the signal for the evap temp sensor.
