Fitted mine in the top left behind the grill, then made a bracket for the wired controller socket to poke out between the grill. Runva XP11 Premium on mine as well.

Removal was ok but was not very good to use on installing new ball joint as it was a PITA to get them lined up and straight to press back in!!!

I'll be buying a G clamp type off eBay to do the other side!

    More Winch

    Progress on the Install

Cleaned, ground back a couple of rust spots and filled the six holes in the bullbar from previous owners front mount towball illegality.
    Painted the bar.
Refit the bar and managed to get everything to line up.
Redid the spotlight wiring connections. Properly with solder.
Mounted the solenoid too far back and couldn't get the grille back on >

Runva install protip: Connect the winch motor earth cable BEFORE mounting the winch. Ungh. Tomorrows problem.

Should be done in one more day, after I go pick up a new battery with a higher CCA rating that won't void my warranty.....

    Funtimes!

Fitted a TRS chipped ECU last night and did 270km on it today.
First it was boost cut surging like mad but a tweak of the wastegate rod fixed that.

Goes bloody well now! Acceleration when overtaking is transformed...throttle response is sharper...pulls up hills sooooo much better!

Fuel consumption was smack in the middle of my average range...actually it was a bit better than my long term average!

    Im chuffed!
Now I need to get my EGT gauge ...

I did the same a couple of weeks ago. I'm wrapped also. I didn't have to alter my turbo at all tho - strange.

I was talking to Johnny from The Series Workshop the other day and he hates doing them with a full workshop setup!
Reckons the nut on the bottom can be a real ******.
Also suggested to keep driving it until the ball joint gets play, and as most of us have found, use only genuine or Lemforder (which is the OE supplier) for replacement ball joints.

Interestingly said he's only just getting D2's in now for suspension work (not including SLS!) which is pretty impressive for up to 18 year old vehicles!

He also asked why the hell did I sell my Deefer.... (it's in getting the IP o/hauled)
    Everybody is rubbing it in!
