And kicked my lazy arse into gear and replaced the engine mounts today.
I've only had them for two years.....

    OMG!
I can barely tell the rattler is running!
    It's quiet!
    It's smooth!
I've discovered two new rattles in the car!

I still can't believe how smooth and quiet the car is now.
I seriously check the tacho to make sure it's started.
Why did I wait two years to do this?.....What happened to your Discovery 2 today?

Well the thing to do is get on your back, slide under the car and see if there is a gap between the rubber part of the engine mount and the steel case. There is a hole in the bottom of the steel outer and there should be a 2MM or so gap between the rubber inside and the outer. If the rubber is flush up against the hole , the mounts need changing.
Its a pretty expensive and time consuming exercise to do if they don't need changing, but they probably do.

Do not buy after market one,s. I did and i was lucky to get 12 months out of them. Went original and what a difference. Change out can be done in under 2 hours that is one person. Look for guides on you tube and im sure this site.

    A few tips
You don't have to put the bolts in the same way as when built. It is much easier to reverse them.
Take off the fan shroud and remove the fan.
I used an engine crane which made it easier.

Philp A , Correct i forgot about bolt orientation. I forgot about removing shroud and fan. Managed the job using a floor jack with appropriate wood spacers to lift one side of the motor then the other. Remember safety first if it looks like its dodgy then it probably is.

been reading up on headers Young Mr Ozscott
    4-2-1
your primaries only need to be 1 + 1/2" tube equal length but the longer the better,
there is no actual figure mentioned,,, just longer,, a quess would be between 300- 400mm ??
longer primaries extend the torque downwards in the rev range,,,

I know there is a formula for pipe size from "intake volume + heat/expanded gas"
but the V8 actual exhaust gas temp is a mystery---
that takes car of the 2 bit,, longer or at least as long as the primaries
the tail is 2 and a 1/4",, LR took care of that calq for us...
or you could run twin 1+7/8's,,,
    with one of these
