My 12 year old Grandson decided to kick forward while getting out of my D2 a couple of days ago and put his knee clean through the glovebox.

Today I fished out the bits and superglued them back in place as well as possible, which is not that well. I tried to smooth the cracks with some stop putty.

Luckily I found that grey bumper paint is just about an exact match for the colour of the grey trim, so painted it over.
Seeing it is sort of under the dash it doesn't look too bad at first glance.
If anyone has a cheap lid I would love one.
    Regards PhilipA

    This happened...
It shouldn't be the oil pump bolt. The dealer that made a complete mess of a simple head replacement supposedly replaced it a couple of years ago. And I was charged for it.
My guess at this stage is that the chain tensioner disintegrated.
    Further investigation will reveal all....
Either way I reckon the engine is kaput so I'm now on the hunt for either a reasonably priced 10p Td5 or another car.

    Indeed.

Looking on the bright side. It needed a new injector loom and a set of glow plugs anyway. May as well just replace the whole thing, eh..:-)

If I can find a lowish milage D2a for a keen price I may as well replace the whole shooting match. Sounds like a good plan to me... :-)

    This is handy!
Whenever I feel the need to boot something, I prefer to boot the spares car, not the daily(D1).

    I like the TD5, I do think it's a really good engine.
    Good luck!
