I just have a dry sensor placed in an eye terminal that has been crimped a bit to fit snugly and covered in BluTac to reduce conduction from the air on one of the housing bolts.
It is accurate within about 0.2-0.5C and not much trouble to fit.
The whole setup costs about $20-25 on ebay.

The past few days the car has had rumble vibration. I'm trying to think what it could be. Tonight, coming home from basketball, one of the kids says the wheel is squeaking. I stop and check. Three of the wheel nuts are loose!!
Tighten them up, squeak and vibration has gone. And yes I did change the rear pads about 2 weeks ago!

Looking back at your pics the wheel stud threads certainly look clean and corrosion free. Just the addition of a smear of oil or anti seize to each stud would aid achieving spec wheel nut torque. It’s prudent to drive a short distance and to re-check the wheel nuts rather than relying on
🤞🏽

Hopefully over working on the D2 for a while...[/QUOTE]
Why did I even put that in writing!
Got the ACE system back together then took it for a drive to bleed the system...
Came back to see coolant dripping out and found that stupid plastic return nipple that I had carefully glued on had broken away!
The worst design imaginable from a failure mode perspective. Will do it properly with a new radiator which I read is not a fun thing to do.

Just screw in a brass nipple, mine been like that for over two years, I have a radiator sitting there just incase, so far araldite is holding well even with radiator temps at 104 towing the van around.
