IMHO it is more that the union reaches a "false bottom" and you think it is done up but it isn't. Mine started suddenly ****ing at an intersection and other driver stold me. Once I saw where it was I was able to tighten it and no more leak.
And to top it off months later the front one started to leak in Byron Bay. This time I had to buy a new Oring and tighten it, and it is the most inaccessible nut on the bloody car and probably in all of automotive history.

Yeah I gave them all a few turns just to be safe, as its alloy I am worried about overdoing it. Hopefully it's enough. Maybe I can put a drop of thread locker on the back of what’s showing to keep it there.

The spec on the transmission cooler pipe unions is 18Ft Lbs which I found after a long time looking.
It will probably be the same for those 2 unions.

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

On the 27/8/2020 with 290k's showing I replaced the leaking "green" hose and wrapped it in conduit protector. And today 11 months later with 309k on the clock I noticed a bit of oil at the back of the disco, big sigh, fuel is leaking again. Maybe I didn't wrap it well enough or something else is leaking!

It's going to be a busy Friday/Saturday. Working on the V8 disco tomorrow and then Saturday I'll be confirming where my fuel leak is. Then I have to rebuild two front drive shafts for the 2x TD5's. Sons one plus mine. Then we are finishing off some work on his TD5 so we can hit the trails on Sunday.

    Yay! Land Rover Heaven

Disco is in getting some extra love.
Head being replaced with an AMC. Valve guides being changed from brass to steel and reseat.
    New engine mounts going in.
New AC compressor going in. It spat a seal and all of the AC gas with it.
    Cheers

That would have been good. Its got the ECU upgrade, boost box and larger intercooler, but in terms of improving performance into the future my plans are to head in a different direction that goes beyond what the Td5 is good for..

Yeah true, ill port mine and fit the head studs now and go for 30+ psi.

I am going to ditch the boost box for a 4 bar map sensor but its hard to find any good stock in AUS
