Engine Started!
Well got the FPR gasket and fitted, just a lazy 45 minutes of cursing (used a rubber band and cable tie to hold the gasket in place when placing it) and then purging, took a lot of goes till the fuel filter stopped squealing like a baby pig, then started and it purred, much much quieter than the D2a had driven up and much much quieter than I remembered when I parked it there about 3 months ago.

While sitting and admiring and taking the short video, the ground below sprung a leak, well at least the fuel hose did, that is the slide on slid off! Not even this could dampen the joy so to speak

Then wanted to see how hot the exhaust was, so held for a minute or so, it was hot but 'holdable'

Turbo boost controller was at the min position and barely got to 5 psi on a rev, turn it up and 10 psi then a bit further and 15 psi, then boosting 20 psi at 3000rpm, that's enough for first time... Turbo is working it seems.
So now to check for engine temp, the Nanocom hooked up and the EWP controller (EWPC) display together, the Nanocom got to reading 88 deg pretty quickly, the EWPC sat on 24 degrees, so bled the system again and heater on high and finally the temp on the EWPC rose and rose whilst the Nanocom sat steady on 88.8 degrees. That is the water temp rose from 24 to 99 degrees on the EWPC whilst the Nanocom did not change temp at all, hmmm, can a temp gauge be stuck??? The dash gauge off course was giving nothing away all this time and just sat on half and in the words of Pauline H, Please Explain?

Turned off the engine and the EWP and EF kept on as it is supposed to do and dropped the temp by 10 degrees in a couple of minutes

We did some temp readings of the coolant pipes and externals and the exhaust whilst running was measured after some time but it must be said that the area around did not feel hot. The temp readings on the upper radiator hose fittings were exactly matched to the EWPC display

Excited you beatcha, but a distinctive whine became apparent in the aux belt around the Power Steering Pump, maybe this was not heard before because the engine was nosier but it does appear to be a bearing of some kind. Is it a case of change the pump over or can the bearing be replaced - remember changed out the old waterpump to a new one with the impellor cut away but this should not make a difference to the
