Mine has always driven the same with MAF connected or not, working or faulty, my own play around fueling tune made no difference to autobox changes and I have run MAF plugged and unplugged with both the td5 auto controller and the V8 auto controller and drove as per the characteristics of each controller.
I have tested with both a good and out of range (I think it just needs another spray like last time) MAF too.
At the moment I am running stock 10p tune , EGR deleted physically and in tune, MAF in place but unplugged and deleted in tune, stock MAP sensor increased to its max operating specs in tune, and wastegate modulator set in tune to allow 21 psi from stock turbo (which I achieve and have logged)
And because I do short drives to the shops and back I have set the temperature to 70 celsius from dead cold until it really gets there then increases as normal, stops it revving high and not locking when I get out the driveway, coz the shops get to me faster than the temp goes up.
I have read a lot of posts on various forums about MAF operation on 10p motors but because my bloody car is in my driveway NOT suffering from it being disabled I will carry on experimenting and learning.
And so far so good with no fuel cooler too. but I am waiting for a really hot day to go for a long spin to get more data.
No where so far (I am happy to be pointed in the right direction) have I found any FACTORY documentation re 10p motors and MAF other than in relation to EGR.
So what happened to my Discovery 2 today.....the dog farted a stinker on the test drive![]()
