After looking through this site I have decided to buy the Dobinsons 45mm 40 to 100kg springs as I have a steel bar and a winch. As the standard height rear springs just came out with a bit of body weight, I think I will need a pair of spring compressors. Or do the springs come compressed? I do not thinks so. Not a lot I have seen on YouTube covering the front, I am guessing that it is similar to the rear. You have to take out the shocks to remove the springs and they could be shagged, they have been in for a few years.

In my case the springs came out easily enough, but cheap spring compressors were a definite advantage for the +50s that went in.

Back from the VHC and exceedingly tired, absolutely stoked re the D2 and capabilities. Have suffered the problem of the pressure cap letting out fluid but top ups (first one was 1.5 litres!) and then driving by the display and keeping the temp to around 90C, also reset the EWP thermostat setting down from a 100C seemed to have helped, not sure that the VF is working too well but will look into that.

Had an interesting moment on the almost infamous CS1 track, incredibly overgrown was like a car wash going through the first couple of K's and looks like it has not been scraped for a few years, coming out of the water the track up to the rock ledge (doozy that one) was absolutely worn with the drivers side about 50% worse than the passengers. So knowing the diffs were on my side decided that I would try and keep my rock/tree slider against the wall and make my way up, BA BAAMM.

Just too deep and the diff centre decided to leave some wonderful marks up the ridge, two winches were required and then the upper rock ledge was well and truly dealt with feeling the ATB's working to the max. Not sure whether I should have taken to other side and held it against the other side of the track with the front wheels pointing left, would that have lifted the front diff high enough. The decisions are made in haste of course.

Up round Walhalla there are some ridiculously steep track, whole day seemed to be spent looking at the sky. Changed my technique somewhat with all the rocks ledges we encounted and mostly kept the engine at around 2500 and the boost pressure around 10-12 psi very little time at 15psi+, just letting it grip and go, no bouncing or scrambling. In M, the downhills were dealt with with very braking mostly in 1 and 2, the engine braking is great.

Was funny the only times I saw the TC light was coming out of the camps in the morning up the steep climbs and then nothing, the ATB's must need to get warm before coming to their own.

Note: Normally fill the tank to the first two clicks, but stopping at Omeo for the last fill, filled the tank all the way to the top, 26 litres in after driving around 150k's from Melbourne? The gauge didn't come down past full until well lunch next day which included the drive from Omeo to Merringtons, hmmm anyone know how much extra can be filled after the first two stops above the 90litres standard?

95 liters they are td5 tanks

I've put over 100 litres in mine and the engine was still running.

You might want to check where you fuel!!
