OT, but the idea of having a demountable winch seems great, until you need to use it. Lugging a winch and its cradle about in nasty circumstances sucks.... ask me how I know.

Yeah you sure don't use a winch on a well graded flat road and would reckon that a winch would be 15-20kgs at least! Steep wet and slippery VHC track and carrying a winch where the whole reason you need is because there is no traction..., no thanks!

Winch was inside in the back. Access door is on the high side. The "puddle" was up to my armpits.... Still, once I got it mounted the OKA came out on the winch. So, "no thanks!" indeed....

At least you had a ladder 🤪

How "ugly" is it when mounted?
Would it be plausible to mount it when you lock the hubs?

It isn't too bad, but I doubt it would be legal on gazetted roads. And of course, if I mount it on the front I'll need it on the back...

Hard to gauge here, but it sticks out in front of the bar. The remote had stopped working so the rope didn't wind in...

Decat and muffler delete. Seems to breathe a lot nicer now.

You'd have thought the fitters would have oriented the lettering correctly.

$50 for D2 prior to D2a .... caliper seal kit

Aftermarket is cheaper, but for the savings, I don't reckon worth the potential fight.

I had same issue when I did the TD5 too.
Brother(TD5 was brothers at the time) had procured the seal kit(I reckon of ebay), and took me over an hour to finally realise that the first piston was was reinstalling was never going to fit with the cheap 4$$ED kit brother got!

It was only microns in difference of the size of the seal ring, but that micron or two just wouldn't let the piston into the caliper.

I didn't get the genuine kit from the source above(I have got some other stuff delivered tho, and can vouch for their stuff) ... I got my kit from my local supplier(short drive).

The kit that bro got had all the bits-n-pieces, and the other seals/boots etc all fit, but the seal rings didn't have the paint/colour markings on the outer perimeter like the genuine ring seals had from the genuine kit. Brown or white lines marked.

Once fitted, the pistons and seals slotted in very smoothly and effortlessly after the effort with the cheap kit.
    Arthur.

All these discos are giving me a heart attack!

Started ripping out the EGR system, cooler and vac lines.

Gotta decide if I remove the intake and intercooler for a clean or not tomorrow.

Also christened it with some 4x4ing
