Heres the one that my bro makes:

Its alloy, SUPER strong 40mm alloy square tube with hes beautifully made legs curved to the shape of the Disco roof

Photos show rack placed - for photo taking) without being fully bolted in (hence why no gutter clamps). Single person can put up/take off.

So has anyone got racks in this style, which attach to the existing roof bars? Any opinions?

Rhino Sports Rack .. Got one on the Front on my bars and 2 Heavy Duty Rhino Racks with spacers bring up the rear. A nice flat Rhino Platform Rack spans all three. Reason I went this way with the lower Rhino Rack with spacers and platform Rack was to keep the height down. TJM, ARB, 4WD specialty shops and even Supercheap and Repco should have these.

Quick quesiton about your Oval G4 Andy, which looks great by the way

Did you go for the alloy or steel and was the ply floor an option from Tradesman or did you add it on yourself?

Hi could not afford a good full size rack at the moment so I managed to find a fairly solid basket at Super Cheap Auto, $150.00 and fitted that to the origional rails. Had to modify the brackets that came with it slightly but have ended up with a solid place to put the tent and a few other light items.
Under no illusions it will only be used for light stuff . One day when the girlfriend buys me a TIG welder for Xmas I will make a better one.

I do get a small amount of wind noise around 60-70 klm ph but this is drowned out by all the other wind noise at a 100 klm!!

    Hope this helps

    Hers mine guys.
Steel with mesh floor,TJM I think, looks the same but different sticker(acc shop).
Note my Disco dosn't have the factory rails.
Top bar of front section is the same height as the floor of the rear section so the Oztent fitts by over hanging the front bar.
Gas bottle holder is from a caravan parts shop. Bolted with a Gal. bracket and nylock nuts.(Extended hose on stove so I don't move it)
High-lift jack and shovel holder mounted to drivers side also.
Positive is the size and stength.
Negative is the weight and the ability to over load.

    Cheers.

I've got something along the same lines on mine. Don't know where they came from - they were on it when I bought. Original rego was Adelaide if that helps.

    Cheers .........
