Thought I would kick this one off. Small Legged Rhino with spacers - HD. 1800 basket. I have got used to the rumble after 2 days but I will drive it now without the basket and see how it goes too. I included a pic I took of a Daintree River snake by accident and left it in when I added other rack picks....I think it goes well with the rack and may consider putting one on the rack, but alas they grow to 20 foot long and 10 inches thick so it might put some people off at the drive thru'.

    Cheers

    Hi,
have bought some HD 210mm legs and bars off ebay for my D2.Did not like the 280mm high bars as to high in my opinion and want to still be able to fit in the garage, will put a basket on when need be.

I wanted to ask, how many 10mm spacers from Rhino Rack will I need per leg?

    Cheers, Col.

one per leg but only with the alloy aero bars (the silver ones) - with the HD square profile steel bars (black) you will need 2 I reckon (cause the converter fitting to allow the aero bars to be fitted to the HD legs gives you another 8mm or so in height anyway)

I used 2 spacers on mine & you will need to profile the rear legs to suit the shape of the roof.

Yep - same here. I had the HD bars on first up and swapped them for aero bars cause of the noise. I used one spacer on the HD bars and they settled way too low...so I was going to go 2 spacers but as per above didnt have to cause of the change of bar. As said above get out your grinder to dress up the HD legs to a nice close fit around raised part of roof. Front one (if you do 3) is fine as is.

    Cheers

Rhino HD bars, as you can see front is on the rails, rear (210 legs with spacers) is on the gutter - they are the same height from the gutter. The front is significantly more stable when full loaded (100kg+ building materials)

I like the bar because the aesthetics suit the D2, it is steel, strong, larger than the ARB D2 rack. It is a multi person task taking it on/off, though I can do it by myself by swinging it from the carport roof using ratchet straps and truckies hitches - it is heavy. These days I just leave it on.

They also match with the Discovery rear door ladder

Hey slunnie i'm keen on doing the same as your setup, just wondering how you went about getting the legs for the roof rack?

    G4 Expedition Roof Rack

Hi guys, I just found a guy to make an expedition roof rack, similar to G4 Safety Devices, however, with the added protection of a light bar (if you want one). I shall post some pics once it is completed.

If your interested let me know as the chap is in Sydney and I've told him that if he does it right then there a whole market of Disco 2 owners that would love to get their hands on one
Beats paying import fees of $1,000 plus the rack!!
