Just paid 500.00 rego td5 30000 on full rebulid. ( has starting issue. Waiting on parts to fix).
Second disco.
Took it out yesterday first real drive in the bush of a disco.
It scared me. Used to my old partol and new pajero (caravan duties)..
Man did I give it a good going over.
Got stuck once (driver driving it like a patrol not disco.)
Reversed it back to gain some speed got it on two wheels front to rear. (Patrol would of been on its roof) discos nice balance just held its balance (driver had to get out and cool down. Or check pants, lol).
Put hill decent in and moved back.
Bit of revs up over big smiles....
Im green oval now.

Took the beast to Lerderderg State Park, Diggers Track. Found a fantastic, unmarked campsite and pulled up for bacon and eggs on the tailgate with my alpine stove.

Picture of the D2 shortly after taking delivery from new back in 2002.
Fast forward 13 years and 480,000kms and it is still a good looking vehicle today.
2000 V8 D2 ES. Purchase in Feb this year. Was in overall good condition, but found a lot of little iisues after purchase. Bought this as a weekend project as i enjoy my garage time and have restored a few cars over the years.
Already removed sagging headliner and painted the card instead, but main work so far has been mechanical. Few little niggles, but has now had a major service (all done by myself), only 1 item remiains in the service and thats a brake bleed, but im awaiting new brake lines to arrive.
Interior is in very good nick (full leather), but ive already modified the drivers seat so it goes back 4 more inches (im 6'5 and needed some more legroom)
The CD changer has died, and im debating as to whether to replace wiith a non standard new system.
Exterior was OK, has been mostly garaged but paint looked a little dull, so this weekend i got my eletric buff out and the entire car has a a 4 stage clean, cut, polish and wax. Took me pretty much all weekend, but has come out looking fantastic - my arms and hands however are feeling pretty sore.
Still a long list of to dos for the next few months, but this will end up a good weekend cruiser to go exploing in with the family.
