My disco 2 td5 2004 classic town 130 00km for waves and comfy times, stock aside from bar....
and my 1998 tdi 300 for touring.... 190 000km all the bits on it, does what is suppose to, booked in for a roof top conversion

Figured I should post a pic of the reason I ask questions about whats going wrong.
This is the 1999 D2 td5 that I accidently bought from the hail damage auction in Brisbane last year.
So far it has only cost $3400 to buy and get on road including buying a new key as it only came with a receipt and 1 key ( nothing in glove box eg service record which is why my first major job will be to check that oil pump bolt)
The previous owner obviously maintained it very well as it is in very good nick for its age, inside and out and other than the snorkel, wraparound nudgebar, NAS towbar and electric brake controller it appears to be stock standard - even still has EGR valve in it.








I included a couple of pics with previous owners number plates on it as well just in case they are a member here as I wouldn't mind finding out the history of it as far as what has been replaced etc so that I have a bit of an idea of what to keep a better eye on with regards eg timing belt, oil pump bolt etc

Look for any service stickers for car service. On windscreen radiator ,battery inside door behind glove box.
To fill in the gaps. Also ring rover and see what service campaigns have been done
