    Or am I talking bollocks?
Pump is usually located below the tower, and discharge upwards, so the water will sit in it even if cavitating.

But yes, every system is different.

They just called in, the AC on level 25 is not working.

I hope the ac units are numbered.

Do I need the oxy set?
    Or just some gas?

JEEZUZZ wept! Especially at the switchboard, eh?

Nothing a couple of good Sky Divers or Spidermen/persons couldn't service on the way down to Terra Firma.

The only cooling Towers I had much to do with were the pressure treated constructed Marleys where the pump usually was mounted on the same base next to the basin & well before all those plastic thingamajig round abortions that are used today.

They were REAL Street wise, hard as nails Cooling Towers, not yer LEGO ones.

Shame they ain't manufactured any longer. I guess it was the Timber Treatment Chemicals that done for them.

Switchboard? They'll each be tapped into the nearest GPO with choccy blocks or bluepoints.

You'd hope, but we've all seen otherwise. Oh and don't call me Shirley!

And also i think the Fibreglass and plastic ones need a lot less maintenance, although they often run cheap Chinese motors, bearings, etc.
They are also a lot easier to assemble, replace fill, etc.

Just imagine climbing half way up the ladder to change a PCB or condenser fan motor on one of those splits....

    Buggar,just dropped the screwdriver

Ladder? Now that you mention there is a ladder there. It blends in so well.

So when one needs changing over, new one on the shoulder, up the ladder, easy as.

The old stuffed one, just unbolt, pipes off(gas reclaimed, dunno how, maybe into a rag), push it off the bracket.
