All sold to a very friendly Northern neighbour of ours apparently.
They have asked if they can leave them parked in Darwin for a few years until our Navy and Air force have their sale

Because in many ways the Pumas are not. Sure if you want air con get a Puma. Some people want a 4x4 that doesn't give them ridiculous problems
What is actually needed to make a good reliable 2013 perentie is:
    1. A 4BD1-Turbocharger kit .
    2. Power steering kit.
    3. Wolf door trim kit.
    4. Puma aircon kit because the under dash Defender aircon is awful.
    5. Sound deadening kit.

with all the bits needed for the various conversions.

Even if it cost $5K or more, an upgraded Perentie is going to last far longer than a Puma.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    I have a coil sprung stage 1.
I'd love to have a Perentie. Might be getting one soon.

OK, I'll ask the question, why? , Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

Had a read of the Puma section lately?
    Diffs, Gearboxes, Prop shafts...
Add to that the the 4BD1 is probably the best donk that's been put in a landrover for a long time, easy to see why you could assume a well set up perentie will last longer than a puma.

The perenties have sliding windows as a separate door top on untrimmed door bottoms, the same door top as used on British Army Wolf Land Rovers. I am lead to believe that there is a door trim kit for the Wolf Land Rovers.

    Well we can start with:
    • the Perentie gal chassis,
    • then we have the very reliable LT95 gearbox (although I'd probably go with the Grubb's Isuzu MSA 5speed conversion)
    • and then we dont have the 2.2 litre Ford Puma engine, (we have the 3.9 litre Isuzu 4BD1 in the perentie).
    • the perentie has a Salisbury diff and not the unreliable p38 Rover diffs
    • and then the perentie has the County/early Defender CVs, The last good Land Rover CV according to Mal Story the inventer and founder of Maxi-Drive locking diffs.

I dunno how long it took me to realise - but i reckon AULRO probably represents less than 30% of landyaholics

I think we all get a bit myopic and think the only people who love the green oval are addicted to AULRO

    aint the case

aint wont never be the case

all them landies will be taken by avid green oval eyed tragics who perhaps dont use the internets or perhaps just dont care about the internets

It took me a while to realise this but the evidence is there if not hard to see ...

The three most landy tragic people I know dont play here... one of them used a 2a to tow a 21 foot Hainsey to Seisia in 1970 something... and its all on super8...

    Anywho

Carry on wondering where all the mil landies went!!!
