Not sure how you know if they were followining the rules or not.
Not sure how you know if the motorists were following the rules or not.
Also not sure if the various motorists that died in motor vehicle accidents in SA this week were following the rules or not.
I think that to pass judgement in this manner is questionable unless you have all the facts & only serves to promote the "holier than thou" attitude displayed by both sides in these matters.
Do you have evidence of this?
I just did a quick search and found articles relating to 2 cyclist deaths in Adelaide this week. I couldn't see blame being apportioned. The only issue raised was one of the cyclists was wearing headphones at the time and police stated they weren't sure if she was aware of the truck. It doesn't state she was at fault and none of the articles I read provided any details of how each accident occurred.
ive got lots of police n firefighter friends.
but you're right, wait for the coroners report
My father taught me that the rules were don't get hit by a car. Ride as far away from them as possible and grow eyes in the back of your head. I told these rules to my own kids. These are common sense rules for people in a dangerous place, that are harder to see and relatively unprotected. These rules supercede road rules that may apply to the multitude of idiot car drivers out there who won't get a scratch when they mow you down. There are too many bike riders following the wrong rules....
Did the accidents occur at intersections?
