I'm a "****ing cyclist", and in my view this bloke seems not only to go looking for trouble, but also maybe he's even inciting some trouble.
I'm afraid I don't / won't count him in my fraternity.
But, that's how I took the link. Others may not agree with me.

I think he went to these lengths after being run off the road one too many times, and I have no issue with it. He may be a strong headed character who doesn't take **** from anyone, but that doesn't automatically make him a baddy. Interesting you count people out you don't agree with, even though they are riding a bike, and clearly a part of the biking fraternity.Quote:

The other examples appear to be purely a lack of space on the roads and if I had to ride on roads like that I think I'd find another activity.
However that said, if I had a driver get out and take a swing they'd certainly know all about it because I certainly wouldn't be taking a backward step.
It does appear that there's also a certain amount of this and if he's posting these videos on youtube then he's probably quite well known in his area which may also contribute to some of these events.Quote:

Nope, I wouldn't be riding with him. Don't think I'd enjoy his motivation.
Wouldn't mind betting the boys in blue are a bit tired of him and his videos.
His attitude is summed up by his last comment in the article.
"Everyone must remember: we have a right to ride a bike but it's a privilege to use a car."
Strikes me as being an arrogant ******. The smack in the mouth he got from one motorist probably wasn't the first, and unlikely to be the last. ;)

There is absolutely NOTHING in the road rules, in any state, that says road users (motorists or cyclists) have the right to unimpeded travel. If you are stuck behind someone going more slowly than you, or stopped to make a turn, or doing a reverse park or any other legal manoeuvre that is just tough luck.Quote:

Of course no cyclist should run a red light, but the thing I have a BIG issue with in your statement is that you say you intentionally try to block cyclists at intersections by moving left across their path of travel. It's this kind of deliberate discourteousness that makes the roads such an aggressive place.
Besides, if a cyclist keeps passing you at lights more than once then you're probably not likely to be getting where you're going any faster no matter what you do. I spent 20 minutes on the week-end riding past the same bunch of cars along Kawana on the Sunshine Coast, and that was with a 6m wide road shoulder and no chance of getting in their way between lights. And no, I didn't roll through any of the red lights, it was just traffic and I wasn't even being smug about it.
