Correct, there isn't. Many years ago, my Brother lost his licence for DUI. One night riding home from the pub on his push bike - at a BAC well above .05, he was pulled over by the Police who asked to see his licence. His reply was 'do you think I'd be riding a bike if I had a licence?'
The Cop had a laugh and fined him $20 for not wearing a helmet.![]()

And yet to a dedicated motorist being only allowed to ride a bicycle (and be the butt off all your mates jokes) is already a severe punishment. Most cyclists would feel punished by losing their car license though because they both drive and ride. It's only a small subset of cyclists who wouldn't care and they are only stopped by being jailed, just like car drivers who do the same.
here is one I will love to see tossed in Jail Mickhttps://au.news.yahoo.com/vic/a/3017...rthouse-steps/
The thug looks unhappy about being caught.
I think I know a person who was charge of being drunk in charge of a horse. Not at all sure you can ride an vehicle with or with out a licence - Found it
"Police do not have the power to breathalyse cyclists, but Sergeant Lavos said they can charge riders they suspect of being drunk. Depending on how intoxicated a cyclist is, they can be charged with being drunk while in charge of a carriage (maximum penalty two months' jail and $1134.20 fine) or can receive a $57 on-the-spot fine.
Anyone arrested for riding drunk cannot lose their driver's licence in Victoria."
Cockroaches...when will they learn??? Even cycling groups are 'outraged' at this nutter...

Drunk in charge of a carriage
Geez, there are some archaiac laws still around
Pretty sure that's what the horse rider at the pub got charged with "Drunk in charge of a carriage". He did try arguing he didn't have a carriage on the horse!![]()
Drink Drive, Ride horse or bike - note the penalties are a bit dated like the wording but the law is still there. QLD case for your amusment
Here is a good run down of the rules which differ significantly from state to state BIKE rules
Mick you will be pleased to note some Tassie and ACT seem to be the most on the ball with the topic. I for one rode a motor cycle just once after just one beer and never again. I did not die, I did not break the law but hell I knew the reflexes where dulled! Drinking and riding is not for me ever.
