They pull around 20,000 bikes out of the canals every year in Amsterdam. People pinch them to get home and then throw them in the drink.

i think its silly comparing adelaide/sydney/where-ever to holland is silly. we are so different to holland.

i was curious to note they dont wear helmets in holland.

I seem to remember reading about a bloke being charged with being drunk in charge of a motorised wheelchair some years ago, but I forget the details.

It's interesting that they totally changed their culture on the matter. It's about learning what you can and adapting it. Australian road users could use an attitude adjustment.

yes and no.
aust is too big a place to become bike centrist.
driver training would go a long way to help with attitude.
