Well it looks like everyone will have to make sure all their kids get a uni degree, as I a show recently that reckons in the US they are asking for degrees as a qualification for all sorts of jobs, just to thin out the applicants, pro'ly due to the ease of applying via internet.

    This cuts both ways.

Have been involved in hiring people here in the UK and Ireland where HR required a degree yet the roles had never before needed the qualification. When asked was advised it was HR best practice to improve the caliber of employees in the company. Nothing to do with skills to do the job or retention rates which had decreased with these higher cleaner hires who were not satisfied with the roles

Also been involved with major Plc companies in London who traditionally required a degree as an entry requirement that no longer required them. Seems they experimented with non degree hires and found no difference in performance. HR advised this was a reflection of the times. When 15% of workers had a degree it was a marker to value now that over 50% gave one it is no better an indicator of performance potential than high school results

That said I would probably feel more comfortable with a doctor or engineer who had a degree

Bad news for all the desperate and dateless in Brisbane, as we no longer have to wear face masks.

Hilarious. In the US you can get a degree from the internet. Here too, for all I know..

Could you people come up with a believable scenario whereby my mower could have an unfortunate fatal accident please?
Running the thing over the cord may solve your problem one way or another...

    You reckon?

    Save yourself some strife... (1) don't use a 240 v lead.

    (2) don't wear your steelies.

    Job done.

A thou!!!! Larf, I can't afford to chip in for a Wreath so no way will you wheedle a grand out of me as much as I like you [or did].

Tell you what though cuppa, we could start a "Just Giving" page for you to buy a new battery mower. Can't say fairer than that guvnor. Some how, just somehow, I doubt we'd get much in the kitty. You'd have more luck asking Santa when you visit his Magic Cave next. Noice try though, but you really need to polish up your begging act a bit more.
