And now for some goods news, of sorts, to some.

"Victorian judges will be forced to send criminals convicted of aggravated home invasions and carjackings to prison under reforms from the Andrews Government. The courts will be banned from using Community Correction Orders (CCO) for those offences"
I agree with the principle of mandatory custodial sentences. All very well until our already overcrowded prisons start bursting at the seams. Then politicians and bureaucrats start telling the judiciary to stop giving custodial sentences as system can't handle the numbers.

The classic example occurred in Qld. in the 1970's when mandatory custodial sentences were to be handed out for driving whilst unlicensed, suspended, or cancelled. Minimum 6 months in a penitentiary not a country club. The gaols soon became overcrowded with unlicensed drivers and a stop had to be called. Same happened in the 60's when people were jailed for non-payment of road maintenance contributions and spouse/child maintenance.

Persons who should receive a decent sentence are those who steal from employees by not paying superannuation contributions and not forwarding income tax withholdings to the ATO. This is straight out theft of an employees money. Owners, directors, management should all be subject to this and a felony conviction recorded.

Maybe if the immigrants/refugees that commit these crimes were to be deported instead of being jailed there would be lots of extra room left in the jails for our "Home Grown" crims

Actually the immigrants or refugees are so glad to be here that they rarely commit the type of crimes being talked about. It is their Aussie born offspring that are the trouble makers - the Somali gangs are all born here. Most of the Middle Eastern crimes etc are by those born here.

Of course there are exceptions but as a general rule it is the Aussie born kids who are the trouble makers.

In a radical initiative, Taskforce Wayward has been assigned to monitor every move of 64 youths ... are classed as being at an “extreme” or “highrisk of reoffending. ... Non-detectives from a proactive-policing unit are also involved, ...
A Western Qld. town in the late 1950's-early 1960's had a police sergeant whose method of dealing with hoons, troublemakers, aggressive drunks was to take them a few miles out of town, remove their boots and kick them out of the police car to walk home over the sharp stones and goat head burrs. No bitumen roads out there then. Repeat offenders were taken further out. The walk home usually took the alcohol, cheek, aggression out of them. Those that wanted to fight police found out why police carried those long hardwood batons.

Yes, the crime rate is lower among immigrants. It rises to normal levels with the next generation. Aussie-born are the problem.

'I'm going to rape you': Dutch backpacker faces Surry Hills attacker

Defence barrister Phillip Boulten SC said Mundine had stopped when the woman raised the alarm and the ordeal had been a "relatively short encounter".The court heard Mundine's behaviour may have been triggered by his drug use, which began when he was 10, and he'd taken ice and cannabis the day if the attack.Mr Boulten said Mundine was raised in Waterloo and Redfern against a backdrop of "drug-taking, drug-dealing, lawlessness and dysfunction".That dysfunction had affected his development and he battled the "dual problem of drug use and mental problems", he argued.Mr Boulten urged the court to impose a non-parole period that would give Mundine some hope of getting his life on track, saying: "He's not yet a write-off."Mundine, who is behind bars, will be sentenced next week.

I wonder if this Parasite barrister would be so keen on getting this bit of vermin back on the streets if his own daughter was the victim here.
Personally ANYONE who is capable of committing these sorts of crimes IS a write off.

I agree with the principle of mandatory sentencing as well. Problem is the worthless parasites known as "the judiciary" in this country who think that they do not have to comply with the LAW.

I believe that Victoria has a mandatory prison sentence for those who attack / assault emergency service workers in the performance of their duties ............. such as AMBO's.

Well that went really well in recent days, didn't it - with some worthless leech of a judge letting those two scum back out on the street to do it all again.
It's no wonder so many of us share the same opinion of our courts.
    Cheers .........

So who held this woman down and force fed her drugs?
That's the ONLY way this piece of crap could have been held unaccountable for her actions.

We've turned full circle. Used to be the convicts were the problem.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
