If you could live anywhere in Australia where would you live?

The title says it all really. What's the best place to live in Australia and why? We work for a national organisation with a presence in all capital cities (except Darwin) and many of the regional centres on the east coast. We have the opportunity to transfer relatively easily and we don't need to consider schools.

Pocket Rocket is a born and bred West Aussie. I've lived overseas and had a short stint in Canberra 25 years ago.

Sell your location to us. 😀

    Hi,
Don't go to Tassie, too small, too quiet, too cool, no big freeways, no crowds, housing way too cheap, and the rush hour is only half an hour, very poor value.
    Cheers

I'm quite a fan of my seaside city on the edge of the desert.

But it's not for everyone If you could live anywhere in Australia where would you live?

The only capital city we would even consider living close to would be Hobart. And even then, our choice would be somewhere on the outskirts of the city, or a small coastal / country town within easy reach. We already have a house in a location that fits this description, and will probably retire to there in the not too distant future.

Other than that, Albany WA. Esperance is nice too, but a bit too far from anywhere. Albany offers greater choices in scenery / venues / shopping etc (and it has a highly regarded Land Rover dealership).
    Cheers .........

I'd recommend Sydney as it's a place that encourages you to head to the bush frequently.

It is often said that the best roads around Sydney are the roads leading out of Sydney.

If we could move to country WA we would but we're stuck where the work is which for WA is Perth. 🙁

That's what makes the decision so hard.

One of those houses right in the sand on Bilgola Beach in Sydneys northern beaches.
