				Years ago I was driving in convoy on a VicHigh trip a few months after one of the wildfires (2003 I think) and had a mountain ash (not a monster one but big enough) come down between two of our vehicles. Fortunately we weren't travelling fast and were able to stop.
Chainsaws got to work real fast and we got out of the area very quickly.
			
		 
	 
 They can get spooky. After that huge storm we had three years ago they were lying around like those toy pickup sticks. But they utterly destroyed around 130 houses and it’s miraculous that nobody died. Quite a few families never came back. Me, I figure that the trees were here first.
