I get sick of people comment on face book say why didn't the police man standing at Swanson street do something(like shot out the tyres or him).
Do people really think like that, what would happen if he did and missed. He did not know what this guy was going to do next. People need to take a chill out pill at the moment. And think about the people that where injured and killed. And stop pushing the blame on everyone else. The family and there friends need all the support that they can get this time and moment. Just hope that the other people that are in ICU at the moment come through this. Heather

Yes, it is tragic, yes, probably should have been locked up some time ago, no we can not predict what anyone will do in certain circumstances, no, we can not read the future. And, yes, we have probably got the mix of a criminals rights & law enforcements right out of whack.
Yes, in the first flush of anger & shock I thought "Why didn't they just shoot the ***** in the head?"

I hope the full weight of the law comes down on him & he is taken out of society permanently.

But to kill him? Not such an easy thing I would think.

Not trying to start an argument, just give a contrary (& my) point of view.

It's a bit of a Martin Bryant thing, we all wanted him executed at the time, now, except those directly affect, probably don't think about him at all.

Honestly this is a clear open and shut case where capital punishment can not be argued .
Plenty of camera footage that can not be argued or denied

You know why incidents like this didn't happen 20+ years ago?

Because morons like this would be in a mental asylum, but thanks to all the do gooders in this world, asylum's no longer exist.

It is a pity that the police were not a bit more accurate with their shot.

My heart goes out to the victims and their family's.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

I think we are entitled to lay blame.
I wonder why the grey unmarked police car facing oncoming traffic at the intersection Flinders Street just sat there for 4 of the circuits, thus missing 4 opportunities to ram him. Why also did the 2 more unmarked cars stop & actually wait for him to take off up Swanston & then simply follow?
I really hope this gets investigated in due course as it really should be, I'm sure by then the police knew who they were dealing with.

I thought asylums were closed to both save money and attempt to integrate . Bet big pharma had a say as treatment is mostly chemical these days.

Drug induced stupor was the preferred method for dealing with inmates of Asylums, so I don't think the Pharmaceutical Lobby has profited. Many people who would once have been in the Loony Bin are now in Jail, or driving the cars which are in close proximity to mine.
    Cheers, Billy.

nahh that would be a full mag grouping at center of seen mass, as in.

Why did the victim have 11 bullet wounds to his head?

I was aiming at the center of the seen mass as I was trained, All I could see of the accused at the time was his head.

I see, but why were there 11 rounds?

I had a miss feed on the 12th round and wasnt able to complete the mag change to clear the stoppage in time to continue the engagement before I lost my valid line of sight and safe fall of shot.

OR... to quote a few other pre politically correct comedians on vic policing practices of days gone by...

I fired a warning shot..... into his chest.

    or

Did you fire a warning shot?
    Yes
    Above his head?
    wellll... above his knees.
