I just wish that once you've sent your envelope back, all the advertising and letterboxing would stop. Then it wouldn't be interrupting our car forums and other past-times.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Given that politicians have no obligation to follow the result of this "survey" I do not understand why there will not be a parliamentary vote if there is a "No" result.

Some politicians have said they will vote "yes" irrespective of the outcome, some have said they will vote "no" irrespective of the outcome, others have said they will follow the result of the national vote and others have said they will vote the way their electrorate has voted.

So in theory, irrespective of whether the national vote is "yes" or "no" the parliamentary vote can be different.

Hence why only a Parliamentary vote if there is a "yes" vote and not a "no" vote?

    So where are we at...?

my missus got a survey but I didn't. Same address obviously and both enrolled here since several elections ago.

Got 4 text messages from the 'vote yes' campaign (no idea where they get phone numbers for, for this purpose ?? )
Damn I hate unsolicited texts etc etc

The 'Vote No' side has left me alone, so far.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

    They didn't "get your number".
They don't know who belongs to a number when they ring it. They just ring batches of numbers.

We vote against it because the sun rises and sets at the same time, irrelevant of what the clock says... Most work according to the light and having business's close early is a problem, then of course children getting up when its still dark, just to get to school on time, then of course trying to get the younger ones to bed when its still light outside because the clock is set forward an hour, is just a nightmare, but then just as you get the kids into routine, its time to adjust the clock back...

It may be good for those that want to spend the afternoon at the beach but the rest of the state is busy working and being a mining/agricultural state, then its more of a problem yet solves nothing changing...

Except pampering to the other states...

I'm afraid we use common sense to maintain consistency..

We can agree on something! IMHO early mornings suck. The biggest bonus to becoming self employed 28 years ago was allowing myself a 9am start every day.

Looks like we can't even agree on that. I get up around 4.15 each morning and I'd love to start work earlier than I do (7 at the moment). I'd prefer to start around 5.30 so I can get that bit of the day done easily enough to enjoy myself for the rest of the day.
