Didn't stop him from losing his job, his family and everything he had ever worked for. We knew he was innocent but the State and the Media buried him. He never recovered from this.
On this note, I have been reading Jordon B Peterson's "12 Rules for Life". He recounts incidents such as the one you refer to. In his opinion, it often fits a particular psychologist or psychiatrist's "theory" that sexual abuse must lie at the root of a person's problem, and thus the "therapist" will set out to find such suppressed memories with the belief that they MUST be there, even if in fact they aren't. It is all to easy to convince a patient that this is the case, sadly. After all, most folk seeking therapy for mental health issues are vulnerable people. Currently, I am personally seeing a grief counsellor, and a psychologist. I HAVE to put my trust in these people, and an unscrupulous therapist could quite easily manipulate someone in my situation, except I am not that deep in the hole, and, I should add, have no issues with either person, nor am I holding back on my issues, which most people seem to do.

Also, in the ever increasingly litigious society we seem to be moving into, there's nothing like a cheap buck. I could probably sue my school and perhaps the Army for things done to me, but I grew up in a time when what happened to me was MY responsibility. Sadly, that time seems to be gone.

It must be noted: In no way am I defending TRUE sexual predators. They DO exist. But **** sticks.

Another one I sometimes find it hard to reconcile is Tom Cruise - I think he's a weirdo dick in real life but love some of his movies...
The Usual Suspects! I don't know how many times I have seen it, but Benicio Del Toro stole the show, and I never understood a word he said. A brilliant cast, with Spacey, Posthelwaite, Byrne to name but a few. In fact, I think I might just watch it again, maybe tonight.

Tom's a hard one. I have never really liked him, and I am appalled that someone thought he might be the right actor to play a 6'5", 250lb Jack Reacher, but hey. However, Born on the Fourth of July, Rain Man (!) and Collateral stand out for me. His Scientology stuff doesn't bother me, I don't care how he wastes his money.

Yeah, he is no Jack Reacher that's for sure...

Thought he was good in Edge of Tomorrow and I've always liked Minority Report.

My wife enjoyed Edge of Tomorrow as she thought it was amusing, as Tom Cruise's character dies repeatedly. Makes up for him being Jack Reacher. Story was ok az well.

Love that movie. Got it on DVD.
Other good Spacey movies are "LA Confidential" (all star cast in that one) and K-pax.

Yep. Russell Crowe (!) is fantastic in that, and remember how much they all hated HIM.

Not sure, but I think I mentioned K-Pax earlier on. One of the Bridges boys did well in it, but their dad had some issues as well, apparently.

I think the point is well made; stop judging.

Yes. He portrayed a thug. A role he excelled at.

Interestingly, I heard some academics discussing the life of Leonardo Da Vinci. Apparently, he was a pedophile.
What do you think the owner of this painting will tell us if we suggested he burn it?

A better link would help. However, does your link suggest that Leonardo is suspect? I ask only for info.

Many genii were suspect, in modern terms. Will we judge Leonardo by our terms, or his? Bear in mind, he lived 12 centuries ago. Were his actions acceptable in his time? Can you judge his genius in our times? I would await your answer.

There is a little thing I do: I place myself, with the thing I wish to prove, in the face of the person I wish to defeat. I then hold a little debate in my head, to see who wins. I'll let you guess who wins.

However, I challenge YOU to provide any form of proof of your assertions that Da Vinci was a peadophile.

You will get no argument from me re his genius.
