Precisely,Trout. The Ambos were on the phone at all times. The "thud" as he hit the ground will never leave her.

There've been some traumatic moments in my life but none as bad as that.
I hope you are all coping with it as well as could be expected.
Billy, I was her first responder, but the coppers and ambos beat me to the gory bits, but I was the one to hold her together for a bit. It is safe to say that this year has not been fun, for her nor for me. She is still ****ed up from her mum, as am I. She did not need this on top. Need? You get what you are given, it seems..

It has been a Crap ( I don't get it. No asterisks) year for you and I'm sad and sorry to say It could take a few more to return to a happier state, but you will.
You just can't dwell on this stuff. If you do you will start doing things that are irrational and not consistent with your character.
Focus on the you, you know and put yourself in the place you want to be. Concentrate on that and you will get there sooner.
Sorry you've had to go through all this excrement John.
    Cheers, Billy.

No, Justin. It was the Ambulance Service that was offering that advice, on the evidence of what my daughter was providing. There was a reasonable chance that there was life, and that was their goal. Their instructions to my daughter were clear, she was to "let him drop",when she told them she would not be able to support him if she cut the rope. At the time, he was not deceased, in any legal sense. Calling that was the the job of the pros.

I have been in a few nasty places, as have many of us. I didn't expect this for my 32 YO daughter.

I was just aghast at the thought of someone on the end of the phone telling her to actually cut them down. A member of the public, a passer by, somebody who has had a terrible last 12 months. The whole situation is a tragedy for all involved and my thoughts are with you both.

Indeed. Pretty much how I felt. Most of us don't have to think this stuff through.. And then things can change. I'm looking forward to 2019.. It can't realistically be much worse. Can it?

I know that the Emergency Services were doing what they are trained for. I guess that is NOT what we expect.
