If Toyotas Nissans, etc are so reliable, why are there literally thousands of repair shops out there catering almost exclusively to the Jap 4wd market?

Oh well,that says it all,I have always wondered why some manufacturers seem to feature consistently better in those surveys,and some consistently not so well.Yet they still manage to sell every one they produce!

Wouldn’t the number of service and repair places for some brands have something to do with the actual volume of sales?
