Just read up on the Indian Ocean Dipolar if you want to know when it will rain. Right now it's raining in Africa.

Foreign ownership of water entitlements. " It's strategic because these countries are wanting to shore up their own food security and growing food in another country so they are not using their own water resources at home. " The World bank is saying water security is the third biggest issue that is going to be facing our planet by 2050. An early report, but no less relevant now as then.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

While looking to validate the message sent by my friend re coal fired power stations planned I came across this site which is fantastic.
    https://www.carbonbrief.org/mapped-worlds-coal-power-plants

The message in the first graph is very clear.
    IT'S ALL ABOUT CHINA.

China now has about 2.5 times the coal fired plant output of the USA. most of the world's output is steady or declining except China.
It is expected India will also grow expotentially.

Although the site is a WOKE site IMHO, with its projections that coal power is now at a peak, it is amazing to see the rise of China's Generation.

So why are we ruining our economy by closing coal fired power stations and not building more when it is absolutely clear that China is the cause of the increase in CO2 in the atmosphere. Is it that theuN cannot do anything about China so jawbones the only ones who are actually doing something?

    Hi PhilipA
A picture is worth a 1000 words perhaps? Words can be powerful as well "High levels of air pollution in China's cities caused to 350,000-400,000 premature deaths. Another 300,000 died because of indoor air of poor quality. "

    large_pqigc5zRqdddxfC4-KvGM6IDSvJERh4ayawTZJabh_g.jpg

    Noted:

    • Mainland China has about 45 nuclear power reactors in operation, about 15 under construction, and more about to start construction.
    • The government's long-term target, as outlined in its Energy Development Strategy Action Plan 2014-2020, is for 58 GWe capacity by 2020, with 30 GWe more under construction.
    • The impetus for nuclear power in China is increasingly due to air pollution from coal-fired plants.

The bottom line is the KEY for the massive investment in carbon free power ( Not trying to start a N word debate )

    Have a great day all

Not much in the way of sheep and wheat in Brisbane. Where is your farm? Do you grow anything else when there has been rain, like barley, canola, canary, sorghum, maize, sunflower, marijuana?

Mate I can assure you that air quality was MUCH worse in the 80s and 90s when I visited China regularly.

In the North at Dalian people heated houses by picking up high sulpher coal onthe sides of railway tracks. The government installed town wide central heating by water heated by wait for it a coal fired power station. This reduced pollution greatly.
There were 4 small power stations around the lake near Dalian which were privately owned.
In Beijing in winter you could not see beyond a couple of Kilometers.
I will also say that a great many indoor deaths were from the habit of Government officials to close all doors and windows , turn up the heating, then chain smoke. This is pretty common throughout China so maybe the explanation of pollution is not so clear cut.

Similarly in India , I have been in Delhi when visibility was almost zero. In fact one morning my 8AM flight could not depart for Kolkata until 12 midday because of visibility. This was and is mainly caused by country people burning cattle dung for cooking and heating as they had/have no LPG.

In both cases Coal fired power stations have dramatically reduced pollution, although India still has little power outside major centres at night. I have been in a village about 80Km out of Jaipur and no power all night. I can assure you that the development oif coal fired power stations in India will dramatically improve pollution.
