This time last year I was worrying that the oats crop I was planning to plant in February may get waterlogged and die due to the predicted much wetter than usual autumn. That worked out well too..........

Forecasts and outlooks can be and are just as they say. Percentage chance of...Likely......

Hope your faith in the actual records is a little higher

This thread reminded me of something, and I couldn't quite put my finger on it. But then, I remembered

Yes, only if reprocessed with the current algorithm to ensure Apples for Apples comparison.

    Usually very inaccurate info.

eg. Japan HAD plans for 50 new coal power stations in 2012, but by 2017 have scrapped at least 13 of them.
My guess is some are too deep into the development stage so some will be built, but there's a good chance that as many as possible will not.
Japan has plans for a lot of off shore wind warm developments, and a large drop in total electricity production over the next decade too.

Dunno about the other regions in that list, but more than likely most will be red lighted.

So it's the same syndrome as the climate alarmists .. facts and claims don't always correlate.
Japan has decided to go big on hydrogen. We have a chance to sell lots of hydrogen. We can use coal to make our hydrogen to sell to Japan. Our Chief Scientist, Alan Finkel, briefed COAG about this a week ago. Win=win!

Two years ago,the experts said rain was coming and the moisture content in the soil was Ok,so we should plant the 4000 acres of wheat.

So we decided it was too risky.

In the two years since then we have had less than 240mm of rain, long term average is just over 400mm per year.

This year so far there has been 61mm

given those rainfall figures, would you say this is good, average or bad area for agriculture?

Good to average normally, had some really good wheat crops over the years.
And usually do well with sheep, both Marinos and Dorpers.
And cattle back in the day.

The weather ATM is not normal,if it was the area wouldn't be farmed.
