Have never understood what a Supermod is. Theremust be more to it than a Name. Do Moderators also need supervising ? Doubt it, as Admin would serve that function.

Do they fly with a large S on their chest leaping from tall Buildings & travel faster than a speeding train or a Bullet? Do they undress in Phone boxes? (A bit odd that one). This is the only forum I have used that appears to have them.

What is their purpose as the name implies. Replies in a sugarbag svp.
Mods are Mods yes - but a Super Moderator can edit/delete/move posts etc in all forum areas whereas some Mods only have access to designated forums. I'm also super - according to my Mum at least - so the title fits.

Outside wherever he likes, where he can show anybody that cares a Freebie shudfti. As a Mod he can charge all he likes per view if he wants to, that is one of the perks of his job. Whether it would be value for money is of course another matter.

In the olde days he would have been referred to as a Flasher.

Thanks for that explanation Gav. Is that written into the welcome Address to the Nation, if not maybe it should be, it covers most other things.

I personally knew at least one person who has died as a probabilistic result of each of those (bar soldering/welding fumes. Never heard of that one unless they were welding chlorinated solvents and made phosgene). Some more probable than others. I knew 3 people who died as a direct complication of contracting COVID. Not probable, but certain and verified by post mortem. One of pneumonia, one of cardio vascular failure and one from multiple organ failure caused by inflammation of the endothelial cells.
CRIPES! I had totally forgotten about the Phosgene lark.

Back in the Fridgie days (& I'm sure the blokes here will remember) when using a Flame Type Leak Detector (Halide Torch)you often found yourself breathing in the vapour of the gas or lamp fuel passing over the copper cone. Difficult because you had your head shoved inside a Display Case or cool room.
At last one day someone told us that the gas given off was Phosgene used in WW1 that was supposed to eat into your airway/lungs & bleed, so sort of drowning in your own blood. Usually followed by Death.

From memory the refrigerant gas that was the worst was Methyl Chloride & the Torch fuel usually Methyl Alcohol was used, also Methyl Chloride was recognised as an explosive mix

Thankfully I never knew of anybody that this happened to, thank Christ. Fridgies were required to work in those conditions usually unaware of the dangers.

    Ah happy days.

The halide torch usually burns methyl alcohol, butane gas or acetylene and is similar in construction to that of a blow lamp with a provision to draw the air for combustion through a sampling tube. If the air consists of refrigerant (due to leakage) then it is detected by the change in the colour of the flame.

Just when i thought the world could get any sillier. (its from the BBC site)

"Brigitte Macron is set to take legal action over an internet conspiracy theory that she is a transgender woman and was born male.

The French first lady has been targeted on social media with the false claims, after they were published on a far-right website in September then circulated by conspiracy theorists.

The rumours claim she was born male under the name Jean-Michel Trogneux.

The name has trended on social media with tens of thousands of mentions.

A lawyer for Mrs Macron - who is the mother of three adult children from her first marriage - confirmed she is taking action.

If you don't make fun of my opinion I'll think there's something wrong with you. Although some people do it habitually and I wonder if there isn't something wrong with them.
    Cheers, Billy.

I'm OK with that, but inside out on his head's a bit much especially unwashed.

I was visiting Tasmania earlier this week and was approached at the local Woolworths by a fellow who noticed both myself and my daughter were wearing masks. He stated to me that we shouldn't be wearing masks as they don't filter out the virus as it is too small, I explained that he was correct but they do capture they small droplets of moisture that contain the virus.
He then went on to tell me that masks are a breeding ground for bacteria and my chances of becoming infected with a bacterial pneumonia were greatly enhanced by wearing a mask. He then tried to hand me a slip of paper with links to goggle docs written on it and walked off.

This was 2 days before the mask mandate came into force.

I hadn't heard the theory that masks were bad as you were likely to get pneumonia before. I guess all of our healthcare workers will all be sick with pneumonia soon but since they have been wearing masks for 2 years now perhaps they have become immune.

Nope, you've got it in one. As whatshisname Oscar Wilde is quoted thus, ""There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about."

Maybe it is a bid for a bit of La Publicite if she is out of the news?
