Pro'ly not but it keeps and travels well, so great for an ocean crossing, when they got back to Scandinavia they would've been welcomed back as heroes, and would've feasted on wild boar or whatever, so discarded the pumpkins.

When the ‘pilgrims’ arrived in what is now the USA they picked a site that had been visited often enough that the locals already spoke English and some of them had previously traveled the other way and visited the UK

Read The Brendan Voyage by Tim Severon for an interesting slant on that. All of Tim's books are well researched and fascinating tales of adventure.

I think this fits here as such...
I remember the Moonie church from my students days when we went to the USA each US winter to be ski instructors which was fun, you would find them hanging around tourist spots , bus stations etc trying all sorts of physiological tricks to hook you, hard case friends went with them to a farm above San Fran and they tried the old trick of manual work, little food, lots of singing, chanting etc and trying to find your "weakness" to manipulate by talking constantly to you about your life. They asked to leave after 4 days and they tried to stop them but they had to almost get physicalal with them before they dropped them at the main road... a semi kidnap style technique, While they were there some of the people handed over their travellers cheques and airplane tickets which were all cashed in ASAP , another way of trapping them.............
This lot are a descendant of that church but now worshipping the Ar 15 lol

Quote: ut Sreymom Ouk, 41, who attended the ceremony with her husband, Sort Ouk, and came with their AR-15, said the weapon is useful for defending her family against “sickos and evil psychopaths.”
