This works on so many levels.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

As I said in my last post, life’s too short to be angry at everyone all the time.
Who said I was outraged? Or angry at everyone all the time? Don't put words in my mouth - I was providing examples that Leunig has form in anti-female rhetoric, which I'd referred to in the earlier post. I think that, like a lot of the posters on here, you're seeing the splinter in my eye and missing the log in your own.

And I used to think that Leunig was one of Australia's treasures, but why harass women about childcare?

    No, that's political commentary - it's fine.

I think so too. Did you read the full article , it's prefaced by the statement "Aiming to stir the possum, I got engulfed in free floating hate. " I think he explains himself quite well, bearing in mind the aim of satire should always be the moral reform of society. Unless , of course, the satirist falls victim of the usual delusion of the aging joker, the desire to be taken seriously.

He does take quite the micky out of men too. It's not just one way traffic. I don't agree with everything he prints, but he does make me think, and laugh of course.

And that I believe is the point of it all. Thinking is the intention, the laughter is a bonus.

So how would the Pickering calendar cartoons from the mid eighties play to today’s audience.

Look, Gav, I consider myself a modern day thinker so, I'd be quite prepared to be offended for you, even though it has nothing to do with me.
