SubscriberSometimes we need leaders that don't use the pandemic to play politics, too. And yes, crisis brings out the best & worse in a population. On the ABC this morning was a Doctor, a leader in the Arab speaking people of Sydney, who took it upon himself to make an Arabic language video of his good friend seriously ill with covid, and posted on the social media where the arabic speaking people frequent. His friend spoke about covid and how it was important to follow the rules. It was so successful in getting the message out, the Doctor made videos in 8 languages , and for the first time non English speaking people got a clear message about covid, and how to make sure they didn't spread it around. And the person delivering the message was actually in hospital, with tubes hooked up to him helping him breathe. Not an actor .The Good Doctor says those messages resulted in the non English speaking community staying at home, following the message. Good for him.Originally Posted by rick130

Working to earn a crust? Not a problem. Not following even the basics, like wearing a mask, let alone the specific conditions of their permit? Unforgiveable.
Note that the removalists' association has been saying that they've been working, like the truckies, for the last 14 months without any issues, by following agreed protocols. Which these clowns didn't follow.

AT RESTWell NSW are taking those guys to court, as they knew that they had the virus and took no notice that they were not to work. They could get 11,000.00 fine, or they could get 6 month in jail. They talk about them traveling to regional NSW but they don't say anything about them traveling to Vic. Heather

It's the same question I've been asking all along - why is there this minority who reckon they don't have to do what the rest of us are?
I just went out to do the shopping and about 95% were doing the right thing and wearing masks and then you'd get a percentage who weren't wearing or carrying them at all. Why?
