A UK govt minister recently made a statement that '60% of new hospital admissions were from vaxxed pts'.
Most of the people who post that piece of data seem to think that it means the vaccines don't work. That is not what it means. That is an example of the Base Rate Fallacy.

If about 85% of the population is vaccinated and it is about 85% effective, about half the cases should be vaccinated. It also means that unvaccinated people are about five and a half times more likely to be infected than vaccinated people.

For an explanation of how the maths works, read the following article.

States pass Public Health Acts which give them the power to declare states of emergency to control their borders to protect public health.
Palmer and Porter tried to challenge this over WA and Qld border controls, but the court upheld the powers of the states to regulate public health.
    The law is clear.
States can stop ships from crossing state borders. They can also stop people, including residents, crossing state borders on foot, in vehicles or on planes.
Federal borders, usually further out to sea, are matters for the federal government.
So, in the case of the Ruby Princess, the federal government allowed the ship to cross the national border, and then the NSW Government allowed her to cross the state border.
Thanks Mick. Yes that all makes sense.

What about protecting the health of citizens who happen to be outside the border at the time it’s closed?

Or who have been approved to travel outside the border but then not allowed to return?

Or who have been approved to travel outside the border but then not allowed to return?
These people KNEW the risks involved when they left in returning to AUS So they have to wear the responsibilty themselves of getting stuck where they have travelled to If there isn't enough places for them to Quarantine when they decide to return home.

Regional NSW goes into lockdown. Orange, Blayney and Carbonne Shire go into lock down from midnight, for seven days.

EDIT. It says the person was infected by the delivery driver who visited the pet food factory at Blayney. Surely that means a positive case in Blayney, doesn't it? It hasn't been reported as such by government. Curious.

Probably should be in 'Funny Pictures'....

Speaking of which, our WA Premier isn't looking all that smart, after sticking it to NSW / Vic (again). We've got sick seamen on visiting cargo ships. = Panic in High Places !!!

One ship, having had it's SINGLE 'case' removed from on board.... was denied docking.... turned around and sent away EMPTY, back to Indonesia..... And by the local Trade & Foreign Relations Expert. The Top Cop.

I think you should find all the facts before posting negative thoughts. Just saying. EDIT the Indonesian ship is in quarantine in NZ.

I'm hoping rumours of positive cases in Coffs are just that. Rumours. People who spread that stuff are not helpful.
