    Free virus protection

Cheapest, safest and best protection against getting sick with, or getting worse, is maintain the highest practical level of Vit D. - As always, get it checked via your Quack.... If he is reluctant, then find a real Doctor !

This graph lifted from a foreign study - Portuguese I think - says it all. (But you need to convert the US to Aus. numbering.)

My own GP is an Indian, while living in UK would jab himself with a few hundred thousand IU of D3.
    .

Bottom line,, keeping a level of "34 ng/ml" or more will likely save your life, and keep you out of serious covid. Your GP will (hope!) advise to take K2 when taking the oral D3 supplement

The stuff we need to know:- 34 = zero falling off perch, Next at 60ng/ml is "Flu symptoms" and the top of 80 is " NO symptoms".

I remember a health report, from a couple of years ago, that said that 75% of Australians had a Vitamin D level of 60-70 during the summer months, dropping to around 60 during winter. If that is the case, then no need to top up. Just eat right and get a bit of sun.
From memory, the same report stated that Victorians had the lowest levels in Australia. They were still OK, though.

Could be worse. Could be living in India.India's true pandemic death toll is likely to be well over 3 million. Although that does not make me feel any better. EDIT India is reporting 40,000 new cases and 500 [c] deaths a day, less than 7% are fully vaccinated.[ this in a Nation that has been supplying the World with vaccine !]

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

Someone commented earlier that citizenship can't be revoked. That is wrong. Citizenships have been revoked. It is not inalienable. This is a good discussion about it.

This raises the whole issue of rights. Unlike the USA, Australia does not have a Bill of Rights, which could state our rights. Attempts to introduce a Bill of Rights have been blocked by claims stating having a Bill of Rights would actually reduce rights. I think that is a rubbish argument. Stating rights would make our rights more secure.
If you think the Covid border controls have exposed our lack of rights, then I suggest you lobby for a Bill of Rights. Until that happens, we don't have secure rights.
I guess that topic deserves its own thread.

True. You can have that discussion on Twitter. AULRO is where most of us go to get away from it all. Or you could find some who will take it up in ACA🥸
    Cheers, Billy.

Never had a tweeter account. It all seemed too much for me. Getting it all out in a few characters seemed just a little superficial.

Did you see the French Covid health pass? Suspect once the vaccines are available to everyone we might have a similar system.

A new Covid health pass has come into effect in France amid a surge of new infections.

From Wednesday, people need proof of vaccination, a negative test or recent recovery from Covid to enter most museums and cinemas.

Later lawmakers will debate whether to extend its use in August for entry to cafes, restaurants and shopping malls.

It comes the day after Health Minister Olivier Véran announced 18,000 new infections in just 24 hours.

This was compared to fewer than 7,000 cases a day last week, a surge of 150%, as the highly contagious Delta variant spreads throughout the country

Not nice re the significant escalation in France either. It is a numbers game sadly. The more people that have it the more dead people is a clearly established issue we hopefully can avoid here.

Only dual citizens are at risk

Only dual citizens are at risk of losing their Australian citizenship as Australia does not allow someone to become stateless.
