You couldn't cope with a pair of nubile young ladies. St Mary and a carer, in your wildest dreams, ol' fella.

Thats all true. As I said, you decide because you know your situation best.

I hope you have a fly swat.

Actually, they are probably one of the few things left on the shelf at the shops.

Yesterday morning, the local Coles had no pasta, nothing, two packets of rice, and i took one.

No spray and wipe,or any type of disinfectant type cleaner.

No hand wash, tissues, heaps of 'Coles' brand TP,but we didn't need any.

The local chemist had a few cans of Glen 20 left, but only one per customer, and some soap hand wash.

My nearest neighbour is over 4km away, and he has no landline and mobile phones mostly don't work there (has to go up the hill to the shearing shed to make a call).

It is 6km to the village - I've got a nephew there, but he doesn't have a four wheel drive and is supposed to be isolating because of his health. It is 60km into town. I have a friend there who has offered to run errands for me - but he has his father and both his parents in law living with him (plus four kids) and they are all older and sicker than me, so I don't want to get him to run any risks for me.

And, even if I do get someone to do the trip to town for me, how do I pay them (I don't do internet banking). And how do I get my prescriptions in to the chemist? And this is not going to help me get my flu shot if it is available by then.

I live alone, but then I have done so for twenty years, so that doesn't worry me. And the phone and internet work here, although the mobile is a bit dodgy.
The over 70 thing seems to be a guidline, not an absolute rule. Shopping for essentials is allowed. You can visit pharmacies. So, from what I can figure, you are okay to do essential travel.

I am probably one of the best at self isolation here, as that is what I've been doing since Jan died. I said to my audiologist recently that just when I felt it was perhaps time to re-enter society, there is no society to re-enter. Just my luck.

I also insist on going out and tending a grave. The cemetery is small and secluded. There is nobody there that cares about the virus. Me included.
I don't know about Victoria, but I have read that in Qld travel to care for a sick relative was allowed.
