It wasn't 16,000 missing deaths, it was 15,841 positive tests.
Quite a difference between the two.

The difference is that daylight saving isn't unconstitutional whilst blocking Australians from crossing internal borders on the basis of residence is.
And I don't understand how Queensland unilaterally deciding to be the odd one out means that every other State that managed to agree on DST is being un-Australian?
Edit: and sorry, why doesn't Queensland do daylight saving? Is there an actual, sensible reason?
Edit: a quick google reveals that a majority of the residents in the South- East of Qld (i.e., Brisbane) voted for it and it was opposed by people in electorates in the West and North. I had a bit of a laugh at Katter complaining about it still being light at 7.30pm - in the West of Victoria it's light until after 9.00pm and Horsham is way hotter than say, Mt Isa.
