Well, my wife is of Irish extraction, I'm fiddling with the computer, and have a Guiness in front of me. Thinking of our friends in Ireland, who went back home after the sister of the wife was blown up by the IRA. Thinking what a funny World we live in. And how I never thought I would be where I am, in time and space. How I survived 21 years in the Navy, is a minor miracle IMO. Covid is just a bump in a long road . Offset by the driver of the Airport Bus who kept looking in his internal rear view & counting the number of passengers on board all the way to the airport. Then there was the Plane Strike which would have left us stranded in Dublin for weeks, but on the bus were a nice couple who left the tour early. Odd? Seems he was an executive (in cognito) of the Transport System & he was able to make arrangements for us to board a "Special" flight back to London, so really he made up for the thick bus driver of the Airport Bus. He was doing a tour to check out the facilities around the country. We have also not forgotten his kindness. Guess what the A/C Rego was ***- IRA. Honest! No Kid. It was there on the Wing in green.
We'd go back again but do it leisurely by own transport. But I suppose that ain't going to happen now. [bigsad]

We have an open invitation to visit Ireland, they'll lend us a car, and accommodation provided, [ we looked after one of their sons who came back to visit Aus. after serving in Africa , peacekeeping for the UN.] One day, hopefully. My wife's family came from Tipperary, but the family line originated in Munster. One ancestor drowned in a boating accident at Corop, in 1870. William McCormack.[ blacksmith] born Thules Tipperary, buried next to him is his wife, Julia [ nee Kelly]born Kilmacow [ love that name. ]. Kilkenny. The family put in to have headstones placed and the graves fixed up in 2007. We'll visit Corop one day.Quote:
