Call me naive , or any thing else except late for lunch, but this is the way I would have thought it would have gone. The PM makes a statement that the Health Minister will be taking the first pfiser jab, to show all the health workers around Australia , all the workers in hotel quarantine, all the aged care workers and residents that he has confidence in the vaccine. Then all those people would be vaccinated as a priority. Then the PM of the Nation states he will be taking the first astrazeneca vaccine , to show solidarity with the citizens , that he is one with them. Yeah, I know , I'm dreamin'.

The following is a news item which seems to indicate that many senior administrative staff at the PA hospital received the pfiser vaccine before the workers in the COVID ward. It also states that doctors were being knocked back for pfiser vaccinations [ none available] , and were forced to source astrazeneca at local GP's.

One issue is that the UK has minimal cases of the clotting effect is because they are only vaccinating with AZ age 60+. Germany and others are vaccinating 45+ age groups and are seeing higher incidences of the complications, hence they have paused their programs.

I think this may be a show stopper for the AZ vaccine, especially when there is a viable alternative available. The gov has some hard decisions to make very soon...

Correct me if I am wrong but is a person on Blood Thinners susceptible to possible blood clotting?
