Based on the advice from WHO, Health panels etc is how this all works. It’s when a department doesn’t do its job properly that **** goes south.

Short of Martial Law, we don’t have the ability to lock down the Commonwealth at a Federal level. It’s a state level thing.

We were NEVER going to prevent the viral explosion of numbers - that’s how they work.... we just have to work together to keep the explosion contained to a level we can work with - below medical treatment limits - flatten the curve is all about that and that alone.

Lock down is a great idea as far as I’m concerned- police the streets - place curfews on movements.

Problem is the country will be economically destroyed by the end of this - finding that balance is critical. Not lives at all costs as this will result in more lives actually lost post Pandemic.

Yes I know how it works re the public service. Point is scomo is a terrible communicator. I was a senior advisor to many pollies and I can tell you many of them were basically dumb but with narcissistic tendencies and many completely ignored sensible advice.

Scomo is trying to walk a tightrope..quite stupidly..rather than commit to a full lock down as a smart leader would do eg NZ..and worse still he takes no responsibility but rather looks to lay the blame elsewhere. eg. the States. Clearly the States and Ts have no confidence in him either as they are clearly doing their own thing. Just shows how hopeless having 3 levels of govt really is.

Yes, I have done nothing but refund accommodation & hire cars due to public servants cancelling trips in & I can't see us selling much fuel if nobody can drive anywhere. At least our Take Away food is still going well.
Thankfully my Boss isn't stupid but I think my bonus might take a hit this half.

I agree, but lets face it apart from work or getting out bush there is not a lot to do in Doomcity. Who knows when I will next get to the Curry to see the wife & kids? Bloody internet better not crash!
