Just be careful out there because people are going crazy from being in lock down!

Actually, I've just been talking about this with the microwave and toaster while drinking here, and we all agreed that things are heating up. I didn't mention anything to the washing machine as it gets agitated and puts a different spin on everything. Certainly not to the fridge as he is acting cold and distant. In the end the iron straightened me out as it said everything will be fine, no situation is too pressing. The vacuum was very unsympathetic... told me to just suck it up, but the fan was more optimistic and hoped it would all soon blow over!

The toilet looked a bit flushed when I asked its opinion and didn’t say anything but the door knob told me to get a grip. The front door said I was unhinged and so the curtains told me to … pull myself together. The carpet is in complete denial, swears it’s just a cover up. The clock is taking a ‘hands on’ approach.

People need humor to cheer them up, there’s a job going for the; ‘Head of clown recruiting.’
Good luck I say, ‘Big shoes to fill.’

a yank Pirates job in Bangkok

Germans lost there sense of humor over a yank Pirates job in Bangkok . The piracy is impacting on our orders from 3M for Australia as well

The US has been accused of redirecting 200,000 Germany-bound masks for its own use, in a move condemned as "modern piracy".

The local government in Berlin said the shipment of US-made masks was "confiscated" in Bangkok.
The FFP2 masks, which were ordered by Berlin's police force, did not reach their destination, it said.
Andreas Geisel, Berlin's interior minister, said the masks were presumably diverted to the US.
The US company that makes the masks, 3M, has been prohibited from exporting its medical products to other countries under a Korean-War-era law invoked by President DT

We had a lovely distant conversation on the footpath with our youngest son, DIL and three grandkids in Brisbane yesterday. All very distant and safe, but it was nice to see them in person, rather than just on Skype.

This was after we drove 1971 kms from getting off the Spirit of Tasmania in Melbourne at 5.30am on Tuesday, up the Newell Highway and across to be waved through the border control at the Gold Coast. Thats a trip I hope never to repeat.

Now we're self-isolating in Maleny. In this difficult time, its important to stay connected to those most important to us.

I read that 30% of people who test positive have absolutely no symptoms at all, not a thing. Another 50% have only very mild symptoms, similar to a cold. So that sounds like what Tom Hanks was like.
So about 80% of people who test positive may not even realise they have it.
So, that raises the interesting question: who among AULRO members may have already had COVID-19 and didn't even know?
Is this where I mention I've a mild sniffle for several days?
The good news is, if we've already had it and didn't realise, we may already have some immunity, making us less likely to get it again.
So, anyone think they may be an carrier without symptoms?

I think it is time to shut it down, bite the bullet.

Close all borders, State and Federal, all non-essential business (yes that is me) and test the entire population. No one in and no one out of any state, port or airport. The only reason you have to leave your residence is essential food or medical or if you work in those fields.

I'm no expert but to my simple mind that would mean that 14 days after the last positive test, life could start to get back to nomal, albeit isolated from the rest of the world. Then anyone entering while the rest of the world deals with this in their own way, is isolated under strict security for 14 days. If that makes them feel like a prisoner/criminal then bad luck this is our island and we want to protect it and it's people.

Well we've already tested over 100,000 so we only need 24,900,000.

I don't know, I told you I had a simple mind, make them, import them. And given that some places are already isolated with no cases, such as Doomadgee. Birdsville is also pretty isolated without the need for road blocks. So I guess we don't have to test the entire population. Maybe only 20 million.

I see Donald Trump just pirated a shipload of test kits made in the USA, which had reached Bangkok, destined for the German Police, but Trump ordered them to turn back to the USA, so there's obviously a big demand for them.
