You will be impacted once they start trying to claw all the money back.

And they will. Part Pensions may get cut to buggery (hope not)

As my olde boss used to say. "You can't get something for nothing", or words to that effect.

At the end of the day everything has to be paid for by someone & if the Govt actions keep us safe & take care of us albeit at a reduced scale who am I to have a grizzle? The other 'as they say' is, "You can't take it with you" so if we have the wherewithal to last the distance, so be it.

Anyone here wish to be included in my Dispersal of Assets? Fat chance.

    Another saying is

"There is no such thing as a free lunch"

My thinking is we were already in a sluggish economy, interest rates are flat, economic outlook looks grim. So this is the start of a largish economic flattening.

It wasn't a matter of if but a matter of when.

I hate to see it happen and a lot of business and people will suffer from a downturn, but its a large reset switch to put things back into a level playing field.

    I hope I'm wrong.

Yesterdays Press conference with the Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern had a humourous side to the stoners out there... apparently

We can move to Level 2 if we are spaced out...

The looming cannibis reeferendum this election brings some added irony.

    Some would say nothing's changed.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

It only seems that way because the precautions or preventative measures were both necessary and effective.

Those who understand how exponential growth works and who actually know something about epidemiology and people who understand the differences between this issue and other problems have always known that if their precautions were appropriate that a lot of people would label them an overreaction.
Yes, go in hard and have a real positive impact , you are impacting on their personal freedom, wait and see and have a negative impact, you are incompetent. I'm glad we had the right people in this country with the best advice, and the right people who actually listened to them. Good to see, after all our political argy bargy we can get it right when it matters. Gives me confidence for the future , but no doubt the political shenanigans will be back.

Yes, that's the trouble with shooting from the lip, often you have to go on the defensive.

all im saying is the response to corona has been out of proportion to other deadly issues in our society.
I haven’t seen any stats, but suspect the coronavirus lockdowns will have contributed to a reduction in road traffic accidents and associated injuries and fatalities.

Has already started .Recently paid the council rates, the defender rego, and Ergon account. Received a letter from Ergon saying my details have changed and I am no longer eligible to receive the pensioner rebate I have been receiving for the last 6 years I emailed them and asked what has changed so I could check but they won't tell me. I suppose the others will be next

This site appears to have excellent stats on the deaths per million of population.

    • Coronavirus deaths per million by country | Statista

Australia and NZ look very good. USA and UK look terrible.
Belgium is top with 757 deaths per million.
    UK is 479.
    USA 327
    Germany 91
    South Korea 4.9
    NZ 4.89
    Australia 3.88
Ethopia is looking good on 0.05
