Previously they had to be attached to the left side of the windscreen so the border official could read the A and check there was a pass for each person. Now it sounds like they might stop every vehicle, which will slow the process. ID has to be carried.

There are claims that people have been smuggled through inside semi-trailers like refugees, which would be pretty desperate if true.

That link is three full days old.Even when it was announced, both the Police and the Govt had no idea what they were doing,or what was going to happen. They said that on the national news.

How can they expect everyone to know these changes in three days?

It just shows again, how out of touch they are, with what is actually going on.Just another balls up....

Nope, stupidity is evenly distributed across the whole country.

As an example, I live close to the lock-down suburbs and our shops all have toilet paper. But a colleague in Sydney went to buy some last night and came back empty-handed - all sold out.

With all due respect, Arapiles, that term, in the context of the topic, brought forth an horrible connotation.

And considering it affects those of us just across the border as well as those Queenslanders going backwards and forwards daily, it's no notice.
We aren't all sitting around waiting for an interstate Govt media release.
Our company didn't know about it, and I've been working past midnight most nights as well as protect managing a job site so my attention is elsewhere, and you can guarantee I'm not the only one.

I believe the procedure under the National Cabinet rules being followed by all the states and territories is that people in 14 days quarantine are tested twice, on days 3 and 11, which means they get the result of the 11 day test before they are due to be discharged on day 14. Those who refuse to be tested have to stay in an extra 10 days.

I'm told that on Friday arvo people who turned up with the outdated A pass at the northbound checkpoint were being diverted off to the side lane there, told to apply for the new pass on their phones, get the email and show it on their phones, as they obviously couldn't print it out as previously required.
Our daughter works for a company which sends Brisbane crews south over the border every day and they have to have current passes to re-enter Qld.
So it wasn't a stuff-up, the system was planned to work that way.

Thousands refuse testing in Melbourne, claiming coronavirus is a conspiracy, and will not impact on them. I'm trying to find the words to comment on that, but there just aren't any, are there? I know one thing. We don't want them up here. Under any circumstances.

"We have had more than 10,000 people who have refused to be tested, now that might before a range of reasons. It is concerning … that some people believe that coronavirus is a conspiracy or that it won't impact on them," Health Minister Jenny Mikakos said.
