    amen

the people that continue to compare it to the flu are the ones that amuse me..

figures may be similar in au at the moment, but that is not how it is going to finish up if it gets away any further than it is at present.

which is very likely that it will.

the us is a prime example...

i dont think elimination was every a realistic option
suppression just draws out the problem

going by the current infection rates, (and this data is wild), the US will be plague over in 12 months and returning to normal.
in aust, we're looking at 20-30 years.
being over it in 12 months anywhere is not on the cards as it appears immunity lasts just over 6 months at best in the three variants currently doing the rounds according to all the evidence i have been able to find.

that is 2 vaccine shots a year if a successful one is developed

the US is already a failed state going by the CIA's own measurements, so whats normal ?

Faulty COVID-19 antibody tests now complicating efforts to know reach of virus - YouTube

It may be my cynical suspicious mind, - too many of these antibody tests... don't work or are hopelessly innaccurate. One cannot shake the feeling the buyers are being knowingly ripped off. And we understand that "nothing" happens over there without the knowledge and-or blessing of the PTB.

Another comment from Dr Birx, - Birx: HALF of COVID positive tests may be FALSE POSITIVES (and CDC admits it)...if prevalence is low - YouTube
In other words, better to test the very high risk folk, like ICU and other frontline health workers, where the chances of a genuine active infection is higher.... 'cos if you test the low risk worry-warts, too many will be 'false positives'.

Not only have the 'Mericans noticed the innaccuracy, so have the Indians.

Coronavirus in Kolkata: ‘False positive’ results keep patients in hospital longer, add to bed crisis in Kolkata | Kolkata News - Times of India

Add this (Accuracy & specificity) to the proven lying of some governments... and we relly need to look for the back-story.

Your arguments really make no sense. Where did “village” come from? What “filthy city” are you talking about? Is Geraldton now some international hub, subject to high risk of infection from overseas, but remaining uninfected due to the unique discipline of its constituents?
Congratulations, you got lucky mainly thanks to your isolation, nothing else.
