Just listening to the news conference from the Vic Premier - bringing in a lot of new rules but it is so confusing, like a lot of the information released in all jurisdictions since the start of Covid - sorry but authorities need to keep the message simple - bring in new rules with effect on the same date and time - rules being announced for Victoria now are spread over almost a week - almost impossible to follow.

Somewhat similar in NSW where masks are recommended - if authorities are concerned that the populace should be wearing masks then make it mandatory, not a bet either way in just making a recommendation.

I appreciate it has been hard for the various State and Federal jurisdictions to work out what is best and there have been wins and failures - these things happen however the communication processes need to be simple - concise and easily understood.

I am watching the press conference and it’s as clear as mud in a beer bottle... I am not sure if I have a job or not.

Yeah, even with us, I'm not sure either - Looks like most of our customers will be going to 25% staffing so that probably means we will be too - I can see a 2 or 3 day week on the horizon for me, but I will say I'm one of the lucky ones and can go the full 6 weeks without work if needed - guess who saved up all their leave for the last 2 years for a trip we should have started on Friday... Not how I want to spend it, but I won't complain about the situation compared to others - I hope everyone gets through this ok who's on here.

Who can say? Is there a requirement for ghosts in the latest scheme of things? He didn't mention those. Does it pay to be seen & not heard? Are you a proficient door or chain rattler? How about misc. spook noises & moaning wind? Any good at those? Can you materialise through solid walls as a Sparky's assistant? Maybe a colour change might be necessary to help you get a new job?

Give it a few weeks & you might be in with a chance although I hope not.

Hopefully there will be a payment made available like the Jobkeeper payment for EVERYONE that has to stay home because their place of work has shut down or if they are waiting for the results of a COV19 test or if they are infected and have to quarantine during this lockdown.

Unfortunately there will always be exceptions - I have a friend that changed jobs 3 weeks ago. Job Keeper is not available for people who have been employed for less than 12 months in their current job.. Poor bugger

And where do you think the Gov'ment will get the funds from for all these handouts that you are hoping for?
I think we all need to adjust our lifestyles to cope with our present situation. IIRC that's what happened during the depression 90 years ago.

    No comprehending your suggestion here.
What you're suggesting is that they either leave everything open, or just close everything down?

Keep it simple would literally mean that.

Shutting down an economy is not a simple task, and to suggest that it is .. maybe you should be the premier of the state and see how it goes for 'ya.
What you're suggesting is that the reduction of operation for Edith's Local Haberdashery business would be the same as for Loy Yang B ?

Yep I'm a bit confused, you cant go to Bunnings unless you are a tradie but you can order online and pick up. Would you be fined for leaving your house to pick up goods from Bunnings as they are non-essential? Making it up as they go along? Probably.

Why risk it when you could always pay to have whatever you have ordered at Bunnings delivered by a freight company as I presume that trucks will still be running
